Dr. Parithosh K. Tungaturthi is an Intellectual Property (IP) professional registered to practice before U.S. Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO). He has over 15 years of experience in empowering members of the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry, including solo inventors to small and mid-size enterprises (SMEs), secure and monetize their innovations across the globe. His expertise lies in educating inventors, identifying opportunities for patent procurement, and developing, advocating, and implementing IP protection strategies. In addition to providing support during research and development, and licensing and commercialization opportunities, Parithosh helps industry members form strategic alliances with each other for obtaining access to technology, expertise and knowledge, and branding opportunities.
Parithosh is the founder of IP Pundit LLC, a legal services firm that specializes in delivering a comprehensive approach for businesses - allowing them to properly evaluate, protect, and use their ideas and developments related to existing as well as new products, services, and/or processes. He received his B.S. in Microbiology from The Louisiana State University (Baton Rouge, LA), Ph.D. in Molecular Biology and Immunology from Thomas Jefferson University (Philadelphia, PA), and J.D. from The University of Baltimore School of Law (Baltimore, MD). He also served as a post-doctoral fellow in The HIV and AIDS malignancy branch at the National Cancer Institute of the National Institutes of Health (Bethesda, MD).
Parithosh is dedicated to using his technical and legal expertise to broaden access to high quality healthcare by supporting innovation, reducing barriers to entry, and building strong communities. He has been involved in many community organizations including as an Assistant coach for the Howard County Recreation and Parks for Girl's lacrosse program (under 11) and boys summer basketball league (ages 13-17), and as the President of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), in addition to being the Chair of Community Outreach Committee, at his daughter's elementary school in Ellicott City, MD. He currently serves as a member of the Board of Directors at The Rotary Club of Howard West and at HER Foundation. In his spare time, Parithosh enjoys reading, taking long walks, playing golf, and spending quality time with his family.
